I did the high ropes course first. It was so much harder than I expected, but I made it! YAY! As I was climbing up the first tree I was thinking, "I should just climb back down. I really don't want to do this. But I have to because I don't want to climb back down either." I was worried they would have to come up and rescue me!
The nervousness and exhilaration left quickly as I hung onto the trees in between the segments waiting to hook in my harness. The girl in front of me SAT forever on the ropes too afraid to go anywhere. I was hanging on with my arms and legs shaking from being so tired on every tree in between waiting and waiting and waiting.... I kept trying to shift the weight from my arms to my legs to anything I could. See photo below (still smiling):
After the high ropes course, we went on a huge hike up the mountainside. The staff didn't take us on the trail and had us clawing our way up the mountain and jumping off and onto huge boulders. They thought it was pretty funny watching a bunch of girls slipping and falling face first (not me!) up the mountain. The end view was amazing of Lake Wellington:
I also squeezed in time for the obstacle course, reading and lots of eating. I had to get in as much fun as possible while I was there. It was so much fun!!!

oh man! that looks like SO much fun!
isn't it crazy when you get so tired your muscles start to shake? it is an unsettling feeling but sort of a rush too.
How fun!! I miss going to Girl's Camp. How many girls did you have go? Are there any new girls in the ward?
what a great idea for girls camp!!! i love ropes courses. my dad used to facilitate them and i loved going along for the thrill!
my girls are up at camp this week... somehow i don't feel like i'm missing much though, although on second thought, it might have been a better option than staying here with my 3 driving-me-crazy-when-does-school-start, kids. ;)
