Greyden's 1st Christmas

Greyden got to sit on Santa's lap TWICE! The first time he was sleeping peacefully...

The second time he was a little confused and quite uninterested in the gift for him. This will be the one and only year that he won't be caring about gifts!

Christmas morning was funny with Greyden sound asleep in his swing while the dogs opened their presents excitedly. Hey, at least we had him in the room with us, right?

Matching PJ's

Aunt Pam got cousin Ryan & Greyden matching Christmas PJ's. Aren't they adorable? Thanks Pam! We'll have to keep up the tradition of making them wear matching pj's. Notice the "lobster" shirt Jared is wearing? Thanks to Jodie & Ken for the fun gift.

We're such mean parents...

Greyden is not going to be happy when he's old enough to realize what we sent out as our Christmas card this year. We just had too much fun in the studio with him. Although we did have a few accidents where he peed and more all over the white background. Just a side note... he's not naughty. :)

SNOWSTORM!!!!

I didn't think Greyden would enjoy the snow just yet, but we had a blast playing with the dogs, shoveling (well Jared did the shoveling) and drinking hot chocolate. It was so much fun to be snowed in for a couple of days. We got almost 2 feet at our house. It took a while to dig our car out of the driveway, but it was definitely worth it.

Blessing Day

Greyden had a wonderful blessing day on December 3rd. We were so worried that he would have a screaming fit in the middle of the blessing, but he slept right through it. We were lucky to have so much family there with us.

The Families

First Turkey Trot

Greyden participated in his first Turkey Trot race on Thanksgiving Day. I hadn't had my 6-week check up yet, so I just mostly walked with a bit of a hop here and there. We only made it a couple of miles until Greyden was screaming loudly and I couldn't calm him down. He had a disaster diaper (which of course I didn't have any with me) and I don't know what else! So I didn't get to finish the race. Maybe next year will be better!

First Bath

The first bath at the hospital. This is when the nurse first noticed Greyden's patch of grey hair. She had never seen it before and was very amused.

Welcome Don Carlos!

Jared thought it would be funny to announce our new son as Don Carlos! Greyden Alan was much more fitting though. I was getting tired of being pregnant, so I made a very spicy dinner on Sunday night (Oct. 22nd) I started having contractions throughout that night. They were interfering with what I didn't realize was my LAST full night of sleep ever. Monday morning brought frequent contractions throughout the day. I was running up and down stairs, doing squats, speed walking... doing anything and everything to get the labor going. I didn't want to be stuck in labor forever. Jared & I went for a walk and again ate a spicy dinner. Good idea to eat spicy foods BEFORE labor... not during labor as I learned later in the evening.

After about 12 hours of intense, active labor Greyden arrived at 5:58 AM. He weighed 7 lbs 8 oz. and was 20 inches long. He had a cute little grey patch of hair on the back of his head and black furry ears.
