Rockies!

Yesterday we went to our first Rockies game this year. It was perfect! The kids behaved, the sun was shining, and they won! They actually had THREE home runs back-to-back. It was a blast and felt so good to be at the ol' ball game.


It was pretty hot and sweaty so I was thrilled our seats were shaded. Elise had a hard time staying awake and took a little snooze somehow during the mid-3 innings.

I bought tickets for an early Dad's day gift for Jared & I to go see Jerry Seinfeld last night. I was expecting him to be funny and entertaining, but it was HILARIOUS!!! Jared & I were rolling the entire hour and a half and I think I had a few tears. I have so much more respect for him now after watching him live. Before he started, Jared and I were looking at the huge stage with just a microphone, chair and a bottle of water. We were pretty amazed that he could keep such a large crowd laughing hysterically for that long by himself. If you ever get a chance to go see him, DO IT! We also got a yummy dinner and gelato for our night out. Thanks mom for taking him for the night!

Little Mermaid

I went to see The Little Mermaid on Saturday with the girls in Jared's family... Thank you Joanne! Everything was amazing including the talent, sets, music. The girl that played Ariel had a fantastic voice and sounded just like the movie. They had a few new songs that were amazing as well. The only negative was the lady sitting in front of us. She dramatically gasped when Ursula appeared, squealed when the Prince kissed Ariel and clapped as the songs started. You would have thought she was a little girl dressed up in her mermaid dress, but she was a full-grown adult. I guess she was REALLY excited to be there.

The BEST concert!

Jared & I went with Pam & Jason to the Colin Hay concert last night at Swallow Hill. For those who don't know who he is, he was the lead singer of Men at Work in the 80's. He went off on his own in the early 90's and is extremely talented. You might recognize one of his songs, Overkill, that recently got big again from the show Scrubs. I put the video from the episode below...
It was by far the best concert I have ever been to. He is amazingly talented and puts on a great show. He has a hilarious personality and had the whole place laughing for two hours. It was evident that he loved being up there and playing off the crowd.
I'm not the type that enjoys the big lights, big show, smoke machines at a concert. The BIG stuff ends up distracting from the talent and great music. The concert was held in a small auditorium at a local music school off of Broadway & Yale. We were in the 8th row and there weren't too many rows behind us. Colin put the entire show on by himself. He was up there with his amazing voice, a guitar and a microphone. It was incredible! Afterwards we got to meet him and get his new CD autographed. I couldn't leave without getting a picture with him. It was a wonderful night & thanks to Jodie & Tyler for watching the kiddos.

Remember this one? His newer acoustic version is a lot better, but it sure brings back some great memories.
