Girl's Camp

Even though I couldn't stay the whole time at Girl's Camp because of Greyden, I went up on Friday for the day. I left at 7am and didn't get home until 11:30pm. It was the longest day of my life... but SO much fun! I wanted to spend some time with my girls and make sure they were having a good time. Plus it was a high adventure camp and I selfishly wanted to try some of the fun stuff.
I did the high ropes course first. It was so much harder than I expected, but I made it! YAY! As I was climbing up the first tree I was thinking, "I should just climb back down. I really don't want to do this. But I have to because I don't want to climb back down either." I was worried they would have to come up and rescue me!
The nervousness and exhilaration left quickly as I hung onto the trees in between the segments waiting to hook in my harness. The girl in front of me SAT forever on the ropes too afraid to go anywhere. I was hanging on with my arms and legs shaking from being so tired on every tree in between waiting and waiting and waiting.... I kept trying to shift the weight from my arms to my legs to anything I could. See photo below (still smiling):
After the high ropes course, we went on a huge hike up the mountainside. The staff didn't take us on the trail and had us clawing our way up the mountain and jumping off and onto huge boulders. They thought it was pretty funny watching a bunch of girls slipping and falling face first (not me!) up the mountain. The end view was amazing of Lake Wellington:
I also squeezed in time for the obstacle course, reading and lots of eating. I had to get in as much fun as possible while I was there. It was so much fun!!!

9 months

I made an attempt at Grey's 9 month photos today. Not much to say except that this was the best one.... He did not like that I was trying to keep him in one place. This little man has some attitude!

Leaves

This morning Greyden was playing in our front room and I could hear him coughing something up. He chokes and coughs frequently so I wasn't too concerned at first. But it kept on going... So I went to check on him and he had coughed up a LEAF! An entire, albeit small, green leaf in one piece. Ummmm. I guess I need to watch him a little more closely.

Crawling!

Greyden started crawling last week. I have mixed emotions. It is fun and exciting but at the same time a little irritating. I actually have to watch him ALL the time now. I leave him for one minute and come back to find him eating my shoes, yanking on the blinds, getting stuck under our kitchen chairs, heading straight for stairs and plugs (and all other dangers), chasing after the dogs and eating their tails and other things. Hmmm. I guess I will actually have to babyproof.
I do like how he follows me around now. When I leave a room I hear him smacking around as he crawls on the hard floors. If you turn up the volume you can hear how hard he's trying. It is cute....

I'm DISGUSTING!!!

I'm only doing this because of multiple requests. You asked for it!!! I was embarrassed to even show the doctor because they are so nasty.

Those with weak stomachs may want to look away now. I took these pictures yesterday and it was really hard to get the angle. The rashes are all over my ENTIRE right thigh (and butt... I won't show you those pics!). Lets just say that you won't be seeing me in a swimsuit any time soon. So for those who don't know about shingles... it is a reappearance of the chicken pox virus brought on by stress, low immune system or age. I guess it is a long process. The rashes stay around for about 3 weeks and the pain stays more like 5-6 weeks. SORRY JARED!!! He won't even get close to me and I don't totally blame him.

Check out the size of the pills I have to take. I keep waiting for one to become lodged in my throat. I won't even get started on how much I had to pay for the big blue pills. I was actually kind of embarrassed to pick them up because Valtrex is prescribed for herpes (the STD). Plus I was asking about nursing while taking it. He probably wondered what was going on....

Have I whined enough...Do you feel bad for me yet? :)

A Long Weekend

Our little family headed up to Dillon on Wednesday night for some well-needed R&R. We finally got there after 2 1/2 hours of traffic from a truck rollover accident!
We rode our bikes on Thursday to Frisco for lunch at the Butterhorn Bakery. MMMMM! Thanks Carrie & Dave for the recommendation. We go there every time now. Friday was tennis, sunburns, and dinner with the Littlejohns in Breckenridge. Saturday we did a bike ride again, but rode to Keystone and back. Whew! I swear it was ALL uphill both ways. We had a great weekend full of naps, movies, reading, and playing cards.
I also went to a doctor up there on Friday... I won't bore you with the details, but long story short. I have shingles! I won't show you the picture of that. I guess I'm in for a month of fun. :) Good thing I got to enjoy Dillon at least!

YAY!!!!

Today UPS brought my bike trailer. YAY! I have been dying to get out on my bike and now I can. Jared got it all set up for me and we took it for a little spin around Wash Park. Luckily it cooled off but didn't rain so I could take advantage. I kept checking behind me thinking it wasn't there because it is so light. Grey had a blast. He kept busy checking out the pockets, buckles and straps. He didn't quite last the whole way around the park and we had to hurry back home. I love it and can't wait to go out again tomorrow. I love to be outside, but sometimes walking and running is just too slow.I want some SPEED!
We went to the pool with Ken & Jodie's family a couple weekends ago. I'm a little slow in getting the picture up... It was a lot of fun. Greyden didn't like the big pool with all the noisy, splashing kids. So we mostly hung out in the baby pool for a bit, even though they really scare me. They are a little too warm and cloudy. Hmmmm.... Jared wanted to toughen him up and get him used to the cold pool. As you can see, he wasn't too thrilled with that idea. Thanks Ken, Jodie & kids for the FUN pool day!
